Pioneers of black+thrash metal, the mid-80s demo and the ultra-sludgy first studio album "Unholy Death" are consistently sought by collectors of the obscure, having drawn influence from early black metal bands Hellhammer and Venom more so than the nascent thrash of their contemporaries, Euronymous of Mayhem among their vocal fanbase. Infamy striking only months following their debut release, NME reemerged a decade later into the post-grunge underground with a crossover sound more closely related to post-punk than black metal.
